FACE DOWN IN YUM YUM CAKE

In a bowl:  2 c flour- 2 c sugar (splenda) - 2 t soda.

In another bowl, beat 1/3 c buttermilk into 2 eggs.

In a small saucepan, melt:  1 stick of butter - 4T Hershey's cocoa - 1/4c oil
1c water - bring to soft boil. Pour into buttermilk/egg mixture.  Stir well and pour into dry mixture.  Stir/beat into a cake batter consistency.

Pour cake batter into greased/floured 9x12 pan - Bake 400 / 20 min

At 15 minutes, melt:  1 stick butter, beat in 4T Hershey's Cocoa - 1/3 c milk -
1.5c confectioner's sugar (or until desired thickness is reached)

While cake is still warm, pour on icing..............

YUM

Her mother's recipe. Tilt cake as needed to get poured icing to cover. A little icing will flow up the edges of the pan slightly in this process.

Avoid the temptation to get a large spoon now and dig in. Wait 10-15 minutes for the cake and icing to cool. Prepare a large glass of cold milk.

Give into your desire to eat chocolate and understand the world. This is a chocolate treat that I could easily let my face fall into the warm center and chocolate icing. The chocolate icing gets sweeter when all cools. Face fall best though when all is warm!

What follows below maybe harder to swallow.

He is a male, but claimes to identify as no gender. “gender-neutral pronouns don’t feel as if they fit me,” Patch said. “I feel no identity or closeness with any pronouns I’ve come across. What describes me is my name.”

Judge "Amy" agrees. "Bless her heart" says the little southern girl in the corner. Take the quiz here too.

Did you know that sex is assigned at birth?

Another small piece of yum yum cake please and scoop on the chocolate icing overrun.

How a Formerly Pro-Choice Nursing Instructor Discusses Abortion with her Students

We are the only species on earth that kill our young in the womb and any discussion can quickly turn nuclear.

I found this a good read and worthy of bookmarking to come back to from time to time and share if and when appropriate. Give it a read, but refrain from exploding in the comment sections here to no end.

YO YO CHAMPION

A long long way from walking the dog and rocking the baby in the cradle.  You will enjoy.

"A woman, plucked from the water.

And I grew colder. And more tiny.

No anger for me this time. No rage like I’ve felt before. No desperate urge to get out there and scream at the idiots who refused to see this coming.

Not even a nod for the glib idiots who say this will not defeat us, that we will never be broken, that cowardice and terror will not get the better of Britain.

Because, as loyal as I am, as patriotic as I am, as much as my whole younger life was about joining the British military and fighting for my country —

 I fear we are broken."

As do I. Ms. Hopkins sums all of this fairly well from my read. All I summon these days is a big sigh - an acceptance of there being a gravitational pull which I fear we cannot slow, much less stop.

Casting Stones

Decades ago in a far off land, a small group of men arrived on a steep shale stone ridge line. In the far off distance below the shale, a lush green forest line defined the changing landscape. The men, raising their heads, noticed vast lands of similar terrain. It was breathtaking to say the least. The men also noted that this particular spot yielded no sign of man having been there before.

These were good men, stout men who appreciated the lands as they were. One man rolled a small bolder and the group laughed as it gained momentum running down the steep slope. Then another man rolled another bolder as did another man. Over time, mother nature would have rolled these boulders from her seasonal weather patterns. But on this day, it was man.

One large bolder lay on the precipice of the ridge line; the size of a small-sized car. One man encouraged another man to see if they could together dislodge it. They tried, the boulder moved and a third man joined in with effort to set it free. They did, other men watched. All was innocent and the moment came and went as fast as any moment.

Only God, terrain, local animals and these men saw this moment unfold. The boulder rolled easily once moved. The speed with which it gained momentum from natural forces was breathtaking. Not a word was spoken nor did anyone laugh. The  boulder rolled and then started to bounce. Just a few feet at first per bounce, then in hundred foot increments. At a mile down the slope, the boulder was airborne for its final journey and silence filled the air. It entered the lush forest mid-tree level and left a path of destruction hundreds of feet wide and well over a mile long. The sounds did not belong in this land. The green forest color changed to that of a broken swath of tooth picks in the far off distance.

The destruction was recognized to serve no enjoyment nor to be laughed at for it was total in its wake. That landscape was forever changed. The men were silent, maybe a mumble of wonderment. The men moved no more boulders that season as they continued their travels. My guess is that these men never forgot that moment.

Might the simplest of mind or the commonest of thinking draw a parallel here? There are so many things being set loose that man can never bring back.

The cake is baked!!

THE SHOOT GOOD FAIRY--THUNDER RANCH VIDEO

You may want to watch, listen and think; or maybe not! Some graphic language and matter of fact conversation/opinions about gun things.

Wearing red and walking double file in a straight line is excellent tactics. That tactic has worked so well in the past. Along with putting your best dressed and brightest on the front line and wearing big red crosses on your back. First Aid Cross or Swiss Army?

The photos in this article gave me pause as does the article. On many levels and if ever my saying "stay away from crowds" holds any credence, then let me clear this up. "Stay away from this crowd, this event, this city, this day and in the future." Nothing good is going to come from these folks when they come to play. Actually consider these folks to be the canaries in the coal mine. The serious Left will come much harder, better prepared and trained.

To add more of the crazy this past week(s) is not necessary.

Blogging and research tops my quality time trying to keep some kind of handle on things, but in all honesty, I have no handle on any of it.

After turning circles on the living room rug, I pick a direction, put on outside shoes, coat and gloves and go to work. And that does help. What helps the most is improving anything around the environment here. Not major projects but mostly clean up and prepping for gardens and the ho hum items that need to be put in place. Every season needs things brought forward and things put back.

This is where I am getting activity and other interests now. I talk to the birds, the dog, the cat, the squirrels and eye the two cords of wood outback, that will be visited soon, when the snow clears. The Blue Jays bring personality to the feed here daily. A look out spots me walking with container in hand. The bird chirps loudly and a far off bird chirps (differently) in reply. Another far off bird sends it on. Tree top chatter is clock work and they all arrive within minutes.

We still have not been visited by our black bear. Bird feeders will be on the ground one of these days soon and the bear too will be welcomed back for the seasons of 2017. He too is making a living and we put up with each other.

More snow this weekend coming. I am not going to mention it, piss and moan nor take the snow blower off the tractor as planned. For the snow was gone and we were moving on. Not going to say any of the bad words nor explain the sore feet from stomping in protest, unfairness, more work and no place provided for me to run to and be safe, protected, cuddled, loved and talked nicely to.  So no mention of any of this. Not the current 11" and 13" measured wet snow this Saturday Morning. The metal roof(s) are rumbling when snow decides to pour off.  (Actually the most beautiful snow fall this season)

Just when I think there is nothing of interest for me to write about, an article/video occurs and sends me down a fun path to explore. I love you Robot came to me mid week from her and her FB of thing/s.

Yes, this is a cute video: But?
  • was it pre-staged?
  • did a parent guide the little girl and hint anything about a robot?
  • was it set up on purpose to pull the little girl in?
  • does parent person always take a camera outside when little girl goes for walks?
  • is it fake robot? eyes look pre-built  to me. Card board box, tape and not sure what the two eyes are. Maybe CD's. Human intervention rather than a random happening.

I am inclined not to get sucked into to this one. But lets give the little girl her imagination and wanting the water tank and and other throw away items to be a robot. If all of this is staged: ok, but I am guessing her response is genuine. No fear of the robot, loving the robot and no stranger danger with a hug. Little girl takes to robot like she might a puppy, mommy/daddy coming across the yard or Easter Egg Hunting.

And there are many YouTube videos of young children taking to robots like I took to the hills behind my house growing up. Setting off on a path into those hills then, knew no boundaries for adventure, discovery and role playing. Robots in children's lives now is "child's play" compared to what is coming in the close years ahead. I am not making any inferences, but robots are coming and coming and coming.

Lets close out this weeks blog on a fun note. Ya gotta love folks like this.
