Sitting across from friends having lunch out last week, I was asked if I was "trying to make a statement" with the ball cap I was wearing. The question caught me off guard. I had to think about it. The ball cap is comfortable and I wear one most all the time. It was a gift from my wife and because my hair usually stands up like Alfalfa's from The Little Rascals, the ball cap solves a few simple problems.

 

I hemmed and hawed looking for a quick way out so I could back to my Ruben. I said that "I just like the hat" and that worked. 

 

I was going to be flip there and say, "look it up." But don't do that.

Not sure how my mind links up with things like this, but it does.

 

Wars this year 2026, seem to be everywhere. If there is not an on-going war, starting a war is not beyond the conversation. Taking lands and other countries as simple as "pass the salt, please" while sitting at the dinner table. We will buy the people and the country and hell, we can assemble an armada if need be. "Pass the pepper."

 

How can I take any of all of this seriously? How many wars can/should I worry about. TPTB, officeholders and decisions all vying for the spotlight, my attention, my understanding and most likely, a nod of my head. Rightly, wrongly, I work harder at not getting wound up in most everything that is beyond my understanding. Makes me tired.

 

But I know we are living in a world of a lot of bad actors trying to do bad things to this country and to the people. I get that!! "Can't we all just get along" is not going to work either. Eventually push comes to shove and just maybe this is the time we live through before shove. FYI

 

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it. Ask Google how many wars are ongoing in the world today. Take a guess first, just for the fun of it. Keep in mind the number changes depending on who you ask that question.

JIBBER JABBER 

 

Cool with cold winds blowing in east Texas. There are many chores awaiting spring; all I have to do is look out any window to see multiples. Potato and onion starts are now at the plant stands. 

 

We have been talking of hopping on a train for a cross-country adventure. Sleeper cars, dining cars and plenty of seats for viewing passing scenery. We are going to take a short trip to and from Dallas soon. Give it a try and see what we learn.
